Megan Hammett

PhD Researcher, University of Manchester

Megan is a geologist specialising in igneous petrology and isotope geochemistry. Her PhD research aims to place constraints on the formation conditions of Calcium-aluminium-rich inclusions (CAIs) - a type of inclusion found in chondritic meteorites that are the oldest solid material in our Solar System (~4.56 billion years old!). Her research combines the analysis of natural CAIs found in meteorite samples with synthetic CAI analogs produced via experiments.
